About Steve
I am a well seasoned professional musician and music educator with over 20 years of experience in teaching, performing, choral conducting, songwriting and arranging.
After finishing my undergrad degree at West Chester University, I began teaching elementary general music and chorus in Pennsylvania. In both Carlisle and at Milton Hershey School, I built award winning choral programs and general music programs. In addition, I wrote a musical called, "Sweet Dreams," about the life of Milton Hershey, founder of Hershey's Chocolate and Milton Hershey School.
From there, I went to N.Y.U. where I earned a Masters Degree in Music Education with a special thesis study on the singing voice. I trained with Cornelius Reid, one of New York's most reputable voice teachers and wrote my thesis on his research and discoveries on the voice. As a result, I have become a very effective vocal coach and helped many singers discover and nurture their voices. I also earned three levels of both "Orff" and "Kodaly," (specialized methods for teaching music)
I taught in New York for a several years and went on to pursue other musical avenues, all of which led me to Los Angeles.
Since being in LA, I taught with PS Arts, a non - profit organization who places arts education teachers in LA schools, I directed a children's choral and theater program in Lennox, I taught at the UCLA Lab School and recently, Los Encinos School.
And it is an honor for me use my gifts, my talents and my experience to help others achieve their fullest musical potential.
